The Long and Winding Road to Julia Kristine Designs
When I started college, I never imagined I’d one day be a stay-at-home mom in Kansas City, creating jewelry that helps others feel inspired and beautiful. My journey has been full of twists and turns, but every step has led me here, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
From Teaching to Motherhood
In college, I first pursued a career as a physical therapist assistant. When that path didn’t work out, I found myself drawn to early childhood education, where I discovered the joy of helping children learn and grow. Teaching became my passion, and I thought it would be the work I’d do forever. Then came motherhood—an incredible, life-changing experience that brought joy but also challenges I never expected. Like so many moms, I faced postpartum depression after both of my sons were born. It was difficult, overwhelming, and often lonely. But it also taught me the importance of self-care and finding outlets that bring balance and peace.
Finding Healing in Creativity
For me, creativity became that lifeline. Jewelry-making, along with other creative pursuits like knitting, art, and writing, gave me a way to reconnect with myself. Creating something beautiful out of raw materials made me feel grounded, peaceful, and whole. It wasn’t just a hobby—it was healing. And it sparked the idea that maybe my creations could bring joy and inspiration to others too.
Julia Kristine Designs
That’s how Julia Kristine Designs was born: from a love of creativity, a journey of healing, and a desire to share beauty with the world. Each piece I make is a reflection of that journey. My jewelry isn’t just about beads and wire—it’s about hope, resilience, and the joy of creating something meaningful.
Where I Am Today
Today, I’m a stay-at-home mom to two amazing boys, with a husband who supports me in every way. And I’m also an artist, pouring love and intention into jewelry designed to bring a little sparkle into someone else’s day. At Julia Kristine Designs, my hope is that you’ll find something that speaks to you—a piece that reminds you of your own strength, beauty, and journey. "You should never regret anything in life. If it's good, it's wonderful. If it's bad, it's experience." – Unknown XOXO, Julia
